Despite not playing this past weekend, the Valley City State football team moved up one spot to No. 18 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

VCSU is currently 3-1 on the season, with the lone loss coming to No. 1-ranked Morningside College, 56-28. The Vikings had a bye week, but jumped one spot in the poll Monday after receiving 103 poll points. In three wins this season, the Vikings have outscored their opponents 160-40. VCSU is currently ranked sixth in the nation in points scored per game (47).

The Vikings are back in action Saturday, Oct. 5, for their homecoming game against Presentation College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Shelly Ellig Field in Valley City.

Morningside College (3-0) remained at No. 1 in this week's poll. Cumberlands (Ky.) moved up two spots to No. 2. Saint Xavier (Ill.) is rated No. 3, followed by Grand View (Iowa) and Georgetown (Ky.)
