Valley City State's Aurissa Martens and Emily Plowman have been named to the North Star Athletic Association All Conference volleyball teams.

Martens, a senior middle hitter from Manitou, Manitoba, was named Most Valuable Senior in addition to First Team All Conference. Martens finished the season with 399 kills and 121 total blocks. She also had 282 digs.

Plowman, a sophomore libero from Simi Valley, Calif., was named Second Team All Conference. Plowman totaled 417 digs and 31 service aces for the Vikings, which finished the year with a 13-25 record and took third in the North Star standings.

Season awards were announced Tuesday by the North Star Athletic Association. Sarah Becker from Jamestown was selected as NSAA Player-of-the-Year and Offensive Player-of-the-Year.  Lindsey Johnson from Mayville State (N.D.) was named the NSAA Coach-of-the-Year.

Aurissa Martens of Valley City State (N.D.) was chosen as NSAA Most Valuable Senior.  Katie Wangberg from Mayville State was named to NSAA Setter-of-the-Year and Newcomer-of-the-Year.  Katherine Gonzalez of Dakota State (S.D.) earned the NSAA Defensive Player-of-the-Year.
