The Viking men's basketball team picked up its first official win of the season on Saturday, defeating Silver Lake College 76-69 during the third-place game at the Viterbo University's tournament.

Four different Vikings scored in double figures as VCSU improved its record to 1-4 this season.

AJ McDonald knocked down four 3-pointers en route to a team-high 18 points and five assists. Aaron Duske had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jeff Romeus added 12 points and Russell Robinson chipped in 10 points for the Vikings.

Valley City dominated the glass with 25 offensive rebounds in the game, including five by Duske and four by Robinson.

Valley City State will be back home Tuesday, Nov. 19, when they host Dickinson State for a men's and women's doubleheader. Women at 5:30 p.m., and men at 7:30 p.m.
