“Dedicated to Valley City State University” is a way to describe Paige Fettig, a junior elementary education major from Bismarck, N.D.

Paige is currently pursuing a degree in elementary education with endorsements in STEM education, ELL education, and also Title One reading. She is unsure of where she would like to teach, but knows she want to work with upper-level elementary students.

Paige participates in many organizations on campus, helping provide the best college experience for herself and her peers. These include helping VCAB (Viking Campus Activity Board) plan activities for the student body and holding a seat on the Student Senate. She also was co-chair of VCSU Homecoming 2016, where she planned a week full of fun activities.

Other organizations Paige participates in include choir, Alpha Lambda Delta (the freshman honor society) and Kappa Delta Pi (the education honor society). She is also an RA (residence assistant) in Kolstoe and a manager at the information desk in the Student Center.

If her schedule isn’t busy enough with classes and campus organizations, Paige also competes on the VCSU club tennis team. “Club tennis is really fun and casual, but also competitive,” she says. The team has set its sights on nationals this year and laid a great foundation by placing fourth in their first tournament of the year.

With the craziness of her busy schedule, Paige enjoys having down time to relax. She enjoys reading from her ever-growing book collection, knitting, hanging out with friends, and also playing guitar.

Whether she is on the tennis court, at the info desk, or sitting in class, Paige is a wonderful representative of the VCSU student body.
