Immortal Life Debate

Immortal Life Debate Gavel
Many students joined us for a lively debate among VCSU faculty on prominent issues in the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. The most significant of these is the tension between progress in the health sciences and protection of individual patients and their privacy.

Participating faculty included Hilde van Gijssel, Teather Sundstrom, Samuel Keasler, Emily Fenster, Anthony Dutton, and Kathryn Woehl. The event was emceed by VCSU's own Retention/Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator Nadja Johnson!

The debate was held on 7pm on Wednesday, October 23, in Froemke Auditorium.

Immortal Life Trivia

Watch out for the Immortal Life trivia questions every Tuesday and Thursday! Questions will be posted on the Common Reading Program's Facebook Page. To participate, simply comment on the posted question with your answer. The individual who leaves the first correct comment will receive either a gift card to the VCSU bookstore, or a drink voucher from Viking Grounds. All correct comments received within 24-hours of the post will be entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire!

All VCSU students are welcome to participate. Don't miss out on the opportunity to snag a great prize and have a little fun!
