The VCSU chapter of The National Association for Music Education (MENC) seeks to promote the enrichment of the student body and the community through service and music education-related activities. Members of the chapter assist at on-campus music contests and festivals, host an annual fall party to welcome music students to campus, prepare a float for inclusion in the VCSU Homecoming Parade, and provide support to other music students through tutoring and mentoring. The chapter makes a year-end trip to Minneapolis to attend concerts and theatrical performances and visit other sites. Membership is open to any interested VCSU student, and includes a year-long subscription to the national Music Educator's Journal and access to web services on
