The Financial Aid Office at Valley City State University is committed to helping students and their families get the resources needed to fund each student's education, ensuring that access to a chosen field is not limited by the cost of attendance.
The Art Department offers a wide range of options for financial assistance so that all students interested in attending VCSU may do so regardless of their financial means.
Adeline R. Stern Art Scholarship Memorial gifts have made possible two scholarships for $100 each to be awarded annually to students interested in art. Awarded to an incoming freshman and to an upper classman. The recipients will be designated by the Art Department. The prime consideration for these scholarships will be the student's interest in the art program and the merit of work.
Cathy Jahn Memorial Art Scholarship (2010) One $500 scholarship is awarded to an upper-level art education major with promise as a public school art instructor and outstanding work ethic.
Harriett Lusyd Stull Memorial Art and Music Scholarship (2000) Four to eight annual $500 awards, divided between the art and music programs, to: (1) art or music major; (2) promise in the profession: (3) scholastic standing; (4) work ethic.
SOAR-Undergraduate Research Opportunity
STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACADEMIC RESEARCH (SOAR)
The SOAR program is designed to encourage faculty-mentored research, artistry, and creativity projects for undergraduates at VCSU.
Soar recipients receive $1,000 upon completion of the research project. Furthermore, you will have $250 to spend on supplies. If interested, please talk to a professor that would be your potential mentor.
Visit stem.vcsu.edu/blog/soar/ for more information, which includes proposal description and form, mentor form, and a listing of the SOAR advisory committee, any of whom could assist with answers to questions.
