*Gov. Doug Burgum announced the state’s participation in an innovative, online cybersecurity competition. Both male and female college students can play CyberStart this year. The college program, called Cyber FastTrack, is a pipeline to $2.5 million in scholarships for advanced cybersecurity education as well as internships and jobs in the field. Participating students do not need knowledge or experience in information technology or cybersecurity to participate.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Be low income according to federal poverty guidelines;
  2. be current residents of North Dakota;
  3. and plan to attend a North Dakota college, university or trade school
