The summit will host musical performances from both individuals and groups of people. We encourage participants to use this event as an opportunity to explore the ways in which we use cross discipline practices in music. We invite proposals that incorporate bridges as a topic, or that navigate bridges through the groups that are formed.
The 2012 Arts and Humanities Conference invites two types of contributions from the field of music:
1) Group and Solo Performances:
Ensembles may consist of faculty, students, or faculty and student combinations and may be of any size. Programs may either equal 10-15 minutes of music or 35-40 minutes of music.
2) Two Special Concerts:
- Joint Faculty Recital: The summit invites up to two faculty members from each campus to participate as soloists in an all-faculty recital.
- Joint Composition Concert: The summit invites faculty and students from each campus to submit performances of original compositions for a joint composition concert. Solo, chamber, and mixed or fixed media compositions are all welcome. Total performance time may not exceed 8 minutes per composer.
