Cole Honl of Valley City State (N.D.) and Scott Petry of Mayville State (N.D.) were selected to the sixth edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Baseball weekly honors, announced Monday.

Honl was picked as NSAA Baseball Player-of-the-Week, while Petry was chosen as NSAA Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for his second time this season.

Cole Honl – Valley City State (N.D.) – 6'2" – Senior – First Base/DH – Moorhead, Minn. – Honl batted .500 at the plate and recorded a slugging percentage of .714 as Valley City State went 2-2 for the week against Presentation College.

He had at least a hit in all four games against Presentation (S.D.), including a grand slam in the 14-0 series finale victory. In addition, Honl drove in six runs (grand slam and 2-run single) in the first inning of that game. For the week, he was 7-for-14 at the plate, scoring five runs with a home run and seven RBIs. Honl also swiped two bases in two attempts.

Jamestown (N.D.), who received votes to the latest NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 national poll, won the battle of top teams in the NSAA conference on April 15 in Redfield, S.D. The Jimmies swept Mayville State (N.D.) by the scores of 11-0 and 2-1 in 10 innings.

UJ won three of four games versus Dakota State (S.D.) in Lennox, S.D. on April 18-19. The Jimmies defeated the Trojans 8-3, 16-0 and 2-1, but Dakota State won the final game of the four-game series by the score of 6-5. Jamestown is currently leading the NSAA conference with a two-game lead over the Comets with an 11-3 record. UJ is 26-7 overall record. Dakota State is 18-23 overall record and 3-9 NSAA (7-9 NSAA/Frontier conference).

Mayville State swept all four games with Dickinson State (N.D.) in NSAA/Frontier conference action in Mayville, N.D. on April 18-19. The Comets, which surpassed 30 victories this season, posted scores of 6-0, 14-3, 3-1 and 11-0 over the Blue Hawks. MSU is 32-11 overall record and 8-4 NSAA (12-4 NSAA/Frontier conference record). Dickinson State is 9-33 overall and 5-11 in NSAA/Frontier conference games.

Presentation (S.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) split their NSAA four-game series in Valley City, N.D. on April 18-19. The Saints won the first game on both days (5-3 and 12-8), while the Vikings won the second game of the doubleheader on each day (6-5 and 14-0). VCSU is 17-24 overall record and 5-5 NSAA record (8-6 NSAA/Frontier conference record). PC is 9-36 overall record and 3-9 record in NSAA conference play (3-13 NSAA/Frontier record).
