Enrollment is up three percent at Valley City State University, compared to spring semester 2002. Headcount this year is 983, compared to 951 in 2002. Full-time enrollment is up four percent, with part-time enrollment remaining about the same as last year.

The increase comes despite the loss of nine students to National Guard duty as of the official semester enrollment date.

"A major student satisfaction survey this year showed students giving VCSU an A+ grade," said Glen Schmalz, vice president for student affairs. "The enrollment figures show that students choose VCSU and stay here. As the survey shows, they have every reason to do so."
