Valley City: The VCSU men’s basketball team concludes DAC-10 play Thursday evening, February 20 versus Mayville. Tip-off is slated for 8:00pm CST at W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.

Austin McCullough leads the Viking attack at 15.7ppg. McCullough has connected on 100 3-point field goals this season, a VCSU record. Travis Knutson chips in 11.0 point per contest and Paul Henderson adds another 8.0 points to the Viking cause. Brandon Bata (5.1) and Mario Lewis (4.8) lead VCSU in rebounding.

"This game is a last chance to watch a phenomenal offensive basketball player," Viking Coach Adam DeHaan stated. Senior point guard Travis Lindgren leads the NAIA in scoring at 28.6 points per game. Also for the Comets, Damon James chips in a respectable 13.1ppg. Curt Hong leads the Mayville rebounding effort with 6.95 boards per game.

VCSU is 13-14 overall and 9-8 in DAC-10 play. The play-off picture is still fuzzy after last weekend’s split versus Minot (71-68 loss) and Dickinson (74-66 win). The Vikings could still earn a #3 seed if Mary and Minot both lose two games at home this weekend. VCSU can finish no worse than fifth. The DAC-10 play-off begins Wednesday, February 26. The top four seeds play at home.

"This game should be featured on ESPN Rivalry Night," DeHaan enthusiastically stated. "A VCSU-Mayville game with play-off implications is a great way to end the season."
