(Dickinson, ND) – At the summer meeting of the Dakota Athletic Conference in Madison, SD, the Conference Board of Directors, which is made up of the university presidents, unanimously decided to develop a strategic plan for the conference. This action demonstrates a strong commitment to the 2500 athletes that benefit from the broad sports offerings of the conference and will provide a guide for future decisions.

The options to be reviewed prior to a September meeting include scheduling alliances with neighboring conferences, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of changing conference affiliation from the NAIA to the NCAA and exploring new member opportunities. The committee will be made up of the conference commissioner and all athletic directors.
