VCSU Athletics and the Viking Century Club Board of Directors has kicked off its membership drive for the 05-06 year. An organization that is dedicated to the support of Viking Athletics, the Century Club has annually been around 200 members strong.

The annual membership drive runs in conjunction with the start of the academic year and is dedicated to providing scholarship support to recruit and retain high caliber student-athletes at Valley City State University.

A variety of reasons motivate the volunteer board to dedicate their time and efforts to the fund raising effort. 'Our board believes athletics is a major part of college life for students and allows our alumni and community to remain connected to our university' commented Ron Moser, president of the volunteer group. 'We know that there are many people out there who want to support the student-athletes and athletic programs at the university and Century Club membership is the way to do it.'

Membership in the Century Club has a variety of benefits. Beyond the feeling of satisfaction, membership can include season tickets, Viking Merchandise, invites to special events, preferred parking at basketball games, and the opportunity for camaraderie with like minded supporters.

Century Club Board Members have begun contacting past and potential members. On-line sign up at the secure VCSU Foundation web site is available at or by simply calling 845-7160.

Century Club memberships are the lifeline of Viking athletics with Membership dollars providing the funding for athletic scholarships at VCSU. The Century Club Membership Drive is a cooperative effort between VCSU Athletics and the Viking Booster Board.
