For the athletic department at Valley City State University the first Saturday in June has been synonymous with the Viking Scramble for the last 12 years. The 18 hole golf tournament will be played on both the Valley City Town and Country Club and Bjornson Park Municipal Golf Course on June 2nd.
The event which raises funds for the athletic scholarship fund at VCSU traditionally boasts a diverse field of golfers who combine the opportunity to support Vikings Athletics, catch up with friends and former classmates, and play a great round of golf. Last years tournament drew alumni from as far away as Bullhead, AZ.
An addition to this year's event will be a informal social on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Valley City Town and Country Club.
Viking Scramble registration will be held at the Valley City Town and Country Club starting at 8:00 am Saturday, June 2. For a schedule of events and/or tournament entry, please contact Cory Anderson at 701-845-7160 or register online at: vikings.vcsu.edu/vikingscramble.
Hole contests for men and women, prizes and a meal following the tournament will be provided with the entry fee. Proceeds from the Viking Scramble benefit the Viking Athletics Department Scholarship program.
