VCSU scored seven runs on seven hits, but it was not enough, as the Vikings could not hold down the Pioneer offense.

Wayland Baptist scored four in the first, three in the second and two in the third to jump out early on the Vikings.

VCSU would mount a comeback scoring four in the third but the rally came to an end on a line out double play to the third baseman with the bases loaded and one out.

The Pioneers would add four runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to ice the game. VCSU allowed 18 hits, nine of them for extra bases.

Preston Jensen led the Viking offense, following up his 5-6 day on Tuesday, going 2-3 with 2 BB against the Pioneer pitchers.

Nathan Stahl took the loss for the Vikings.

VCSU is back in action Thursday with a double header against Mount Marty starting at 11 AM.
