VALLEY CITY (VCSU) – Dakota State defeated Valley City State 3-0 during North Star volleyball action Wednesday night at Graichen Gymnasium.

The Vikings drop to 6-11 on the season, and are now 0-2 in the North Star Athletic Association. Dakota State improves 5-13 overall and 2-0 in the North Star.
Valley City State was led by 11 kills from senior Aurissa Martens. Kelsey Labodi added five kills and Barb Ector tallied four kills.

Stephanie Miller and Rachel Hummel each recorded a service ace for the Vikings. Anna Neufeld led VCSU with 13 assists and Miller added 12.

Brittney Anderson led the Trojans with 10 kills.

Up next: VCSU looks for its first North Star win on Friday night when the Vikings travel to Presentation College in Aberdeen. VCSU will then host Briercrest College at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
