Each year one student from each active SNDU chapter is eligible to receive a $100 scholarship from the NDU. A check is presented to the chosen SNDU member at the Representative Assembly held in October.
The NDU Foundation awards a $500 scholarship to an outstanding student who is preparing for a career in education. The winner is selected by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation. Application forms must be submitted by March 15 and include:
To be eligible a student must be registered full time in a teacher education program, has maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average and maintains membership in the NEA student program.
To encourage and assist minorities to enter the profession of teaching, one $500 scholarship is awarded annually upon the recommendation of the NDEA's Minority Affairs Commission. The applicant must be a minority undergraduate student in good standing enrolled in a ND teacher education program. The dollar amount will be forwarded to the institution in which the recipient is enrolled to defer the usual expenses for the semester following the award.
