Mission Statement

The mission of Valley City State University’s Behavioral Intervention Team is to provide a proactive and supportive multidisciplinary team approach to prevention, assessment, intervention, and management of situations or individuals that may pose a threat to the safety and wellbeing of the University community.


The purpose of VCSU’s Behavioral Intervention Team is care and concern for students, faculty members or staff members who may be in distress. Team members coordinate resources and implement a coordinated response with the goal of providing assistance to the individual while mitigating risk in an effort to keep the VCSU community healthy and safe.
