Welcome to Valley City State!

campus We're pleased that you're taking a look at Valley City State University! VCSU has a long-standing tradition of providing personal connections throughout your educational experience and we've merged that tradition with the latest in instructional technology. We just completed our 12th year of providing every full-time student a laptop computer, making the VCSU experience one of the best values available today.

Still Undecided About Plans for Fall?

student Making the final decision about where to go to college is a difficult one. If you're still "on the fence" and you haven't visited VCSU we would love you to come visit! Just let us know what day and time you can come and we'll take care of setting up a tour and a meeting with a professor in your area of interest, as well as any extra-curricular areas of interest. You'll also meet with an admission counselor and get a free t-shirt! Just call 701-845-7101 to let us know you'd like to come visit.

Not Registered for Classes?

students If you're planning to attend VCSU this fall and you haven't registered for classes, give us a call to make a registration appointment!
An academic advisor will work with you to create your fall schedule suited to fit your needs.
If you already have a class schedule but would like to make a change please let us know by calling 1-800-532-8641 x. 7101 or 701-845-7101.

Completing Your File

To Do List When the school year starts in a few short weeks, students can forget that their file is still incomplete. To ensure a smooth transition into spring semester, students are welcome to contact the Office of Enrollment Services if they are
unsure about their file.
The following is a list of items required from students:
$35 Application Fee
OfficialTest Results (ACT/SAT)
MMR Records
Final High School Transcript or GED
Official Transcripts from other institutions

Residence HALL 101- What to buy, bring, and leave at home.

boxes As a first-time college student, it's very easy to either bring too much or not enough 'stuff' to make yourself at home in the residence halls.

What do you bring? What do you leave? What is my roommate going to bring? Here are a few suggestions to consider as you begin developing your must-have dorm room list!

STUFF YOU CAN BRING:
- Sheets, comforter, blankets and pillows
- Posters for walls
- Bathrobe
- Plants
- Laundry basket or bag and soap
- Lots of quarters for laundry machines
- Winter jacket, boots, and gloves
- Camera
- Pictures and portraits
- Desk lamp
- Calculator
- Tape, sticky notes
- Alarm Clock
- Baseball glove, Frisbee
- Stereo
- Bike and lock
- Rollerblades
- Shower basket
- Soap, deodorant, etc.
- Basketball
- Hangers
- Small plates and utensils
- Towels, washcloths, etc.
- Television/DVD
- Iron and ironing board
- Extension cord
- Fan

STUFF TO LEAVE AT HOME:
- Microwave oven
- Waterbed
- Hot plate, Toaster ovens, etc.
- Pets (including snakes, lizards, hamsters, turtles, etc.)
- Lots of furniture
- Telephone (each laptop is provided with one--you will hear more about this)
- Air Conditioner
- Candles
- Flammable Material
- Alcohol or Illegal Drugs (not even empty containers)
- Guns or Weapons

SUSCRIBE TO THE VCSU PARENT NEWSLETTER

We are pleased to announce that VCSU will be starting an electronic Parent Newsletter that will provide parents of VCSU students with updates, news items, announcements and information from the campus. We plan to send news items by way of an occasional e-mail newsletter but will also use the mailing list for important announcements, deadlines and notifications.
