Safety & Emergency

“We are all members of the VCSU community and we are all committed to creating a safe environment conducive to learning.”

Valley City State University strives to make all students, employees, and visitors to campus feel welcome and secure. With campus and student safety as one of our highest priorities, we have employees working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We have an obligation to do everything in our power to keep our students safe and protected, including:

  • Strict policies in regards to alcohol, illicit drugs, violence, weapons, and other emergency situations
  • Our Emergency Notification System (ENS) keeps the campus community informed of any situation from weather delays to school closings or other emergencies. All students, faculty and staff are enrolled in the ENS, making delivering these messages fast and effective.
  • The VCSU Watch Program is designed to keep campus safe through a confidential system used for reporting illegal or suspicious activity or other safety concerns. This program includes an anonymous tip form for use by all students.

VCSU takes student safety seriously. Don’t hesitate to ask questions about our safety and emergency policies and procedures.
