Two weeks ago, an email was sent in regards to the cleanliness and overall appearance of campus. Next week, Ron Pommerer, Risk Management Contact will be going around campus and meeting with the individual's whose areas were included in the Annual Risk Management Audit report. Again, we are asking that the areas that have been identified as a health, fire or safety risk be cleaned by December 31st. If you need extra help cleaning or would like an evaluation done of your area, please contact Facilities Services.

In the past two months, a series of “Campus Safety Walks” were done with the Student Senate, Staff Senate and the Faculty Senate (on December 6th). The purpose of this activity is to identify any outdoor, with a focus on nighttime, safety concerns of the campus community.

At this time Facilities/Safety personnel explain improvements that have been made concerning security cameras and lighting. As a result of these safety walks, the following additions have been made: additional outdoor security cameras, wall packs for additional lighting all across campus, and sidewalk repairs. The Facilities/Safety office will continue to take suggestions for improvements.

SAFETY MESSAGE REGARDING PERSONAL SPACE HEATERS:

Contact the Facilities Services Office (3-7705) to set-up an inspection time with Ron (if you are using a space heater that has not been inspected).
