VCSU Music performing Christmas Concert on Dec. 7

The Valley City State University music department invites the community to its Christmas Concert at VCSU on Sunday, December 7, at the Larry J. Robinson Center for the Arts.

The concert begins at 3:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The joyful event features the VCSU Concert Choir, Brass Ensemble and Woodwind Ensemble performing a variety of holiday favorites.

Under the direction of Heather Aune, the VCSU Concert Choir will present several holiday classics, including “Peace, Peace (Silent Night)” and “Joy to the World.”

The Woodwind Ensemble, led by Dr. Jeremy Wohletz, and the Brass Ensemble, directed by Mr. Jerrold Heide, will each perform two pieces at the concert.

Make plans to join VCSU Music on Dec. 7 for an afternoon of beautiful holiday music.

Viking Sports Update

MEN’S BASKETBALL
The Valley City State Men’s basketball teams hosted two top 25 teams this past weekend in the first two Frontier Conference home games. Vikings fall in high scoring game with Montana Western. Vikings fall to #6 Montana Tech 73-61. The Viking’s game with Trinity Bible College scheduled for Tuesday, November 25 was postponed. No make-up date has been announced.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The Viking women split their two games last weekend. The win came against a top 25 team. Women’s basketball falls 66-62 to Montana Western. Women’s Basketball takes down #21 Montana Tech. The women’s game with Trinity Bible College on Tuesday, November 25 was postponed and will be made up at a later date.

TRACK AND FIELD
The Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field season kickoff in a week. The Vikings will be in Bismarck at the Mike Thorson Open hosted by the University of Mary on Saturday, December 6.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Things will be quiet for a little while at the Bubble. No Viking basketball games at home until December 20. The Viking men will host Dakota Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m. The Girls Barnes County Tournament will be held at the Bubble on Tuesday December 9, Thursday December 11 and Friday, December 12.
