VCSU welcomes students to campus
VALLEY CITY (VCSU) – Valley City State University welcomes more than 300 new students over the next few days as the school gears up for the start of the Fall semester.
Move-In Day for new incoming freshmen is Friday, Aug. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Numerous volunteers will be on hand to greet students and their families, serve meals and snacks, and help students with move in. A group of about 40 VCSU football student-athletes will be stationed at various residence halls to help carry items into dorm rooms. VCSU is expecting about 180 new freshmen this fall.
Viking Voyage activities begin at 5 p.m. Friday and are required activities throughout the weekend for on-campus freshmen. The weekend includes numerous fun activities, laptop checkout and trainings, and service projects. Viking Voyage is designed to teach new Vikings customs, traditions, and critical skills in helping them prepare for long-term success at VCSU.
Returning students and transfer students can check in to their residence halls on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 12 to 5 p.m.
An optional orientation session for transfer students is at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25. Official classes start at 4 p.m. on Monday. The first full day of classes is Tuesday, Aug. 26.
