“Accreditation” is review of the quality of higher education institutions and programs. In the United States, accreditation is a major way that students, families, government officials, and the press know that an institution or program provides a quality education.

- Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA)
- Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation
- National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)
- International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE)
- The Department of Business at Valley City State University has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11960 Quivira Road in Overland Park, Kansas, USA.
