VCSU Fall Choir Showcase by Concert Choir and University Chamber Singers
The Valley City State University (VCSU) Concert Choir and University Chamber Singers will present a fall choir showcase in the Center for the Arts Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 6. Admission to the concert is free, and donations to support the work of the ensembles are welcome.
Concert Choir and University Singers will present a diverse choral repertoire from Chinese choral music to American folk song. The repertoire of this concert includes works in four different languages besides English: Chinese, German, Russian, and Latin. In this concert, you can hear the Renaissance motet from Palestrina and the secular choral work from Tchaikovsky. A local American folk song work named “Red River Valley” and spiritual work “Death Came on A-Knockin” will also be performed. Finally, the singers will complete the concert with a modern Chinese choral work and a contemporary English choral music collection.
The public is warmly invited to attend this concert and experience the new Center for the Arts at VCSU. For information, please contact the VCSU Music Department at 701-845-7272.
