COVID-19 Update: Changes in Risk Level for Barnes County

Sep 4, 2020

VCSU Community,

Yesterday afternoon, Governor Doug Burgum announced that the COVID-19 risk level increased from green to yellow in Barnes County. This elevated changed from low to moderate was based upon the increased positive cases in our county.

What does this mean for VCSU?

  1. We will be limiting our large event attendance, including our athletic events, to no more than 250 people, which follows the NDDoH guidelines, starting today, September 4, at 4:00pm.
  2. We will be implementing a new self-reporting form in One Stop to assist with the contact tracing process: COVID Reporting Form
All students and employees are expected to use this form moving forward.

What will we continue to do to protect our Viking family?

  • Mask up. All students, staff, faculty, affiliates and campus visitors are required to wear face coverings when interacting with others on the VCSU campus.
  • Practice physical distancing. Maintain at least 6 feet between yourself and others.
  • Wash your hands. If soap and water aren’t available use hand sanitizer.
  • Add your phone to the COVID fight. Contact tracing is critical in containing the spread of the virus. Download the Care19 app to your phone to help protect yourself and others. Click here for more information and instructions to download the app.

On behalf of the Emergency Management Team, we want to thank our Vikings — without your support of the new safety procedures, we would not have had such a successful start to our year. With your continued support we will see this through. Remember, we are better together.

Thank you for your commitment to health and safety at VCSU — WE ALL ROW!
