VCSU commencement postponed
Dear campus community,
In the interests of public health and safety, we have decided to postpone Valley City State University’s Spring 2020 Commencement, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 16.
Like so many of the other decisions we’ve needed to make recently, this one doesn’t come easy. Celebrating the educational achievements of our undergraduate and graduate students and awarding them their diplomas is one of the most significant university events, befitting the traditional pomp and circumstance that accompanies the ceremony. But this year’s unique circumstances dictate that we delay that celebration.
We do intend to recognize our graduates this spring, and we hope to have a ceremony at a later date where we can gather in person, but given the current situation, we need to wait to set a date for that event.
For now, we’re working on alternate plans to recognize our graduates at the end of the semester. We’ll keep you posted as those plans develop.
Go Vikings!
Sincerely,
Al
