COVID-19 Testing + Safe Return to Campus

As we look forward to the holiday break and prepare for the return of students in January, it’s important to stay diligent in keeping cases of COVID-19 low on our campus. One key strategy that has proven to be effective is the early detection and isolation of positive cases through testing. Taking the time to be tested is an easy way to protect your “Viking Family” and help keep our campus safe.

  • Weekly community testing events will continue to be held at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse. Some of the events are utilizing rapid testing, which returns initial results in 15 minutes. (Symptomatic individuals who test negative with rapid testing will still be administered a traditional PCR test.)
  • VCSU staff are strongly encouraged to test after the holidays – especially those that traveled or spent time with people outside their household. An effective test will be about seven days after your potential exposure.
  • VCSU is strongly encouraging all faculty and off-campus students to test the week before returning to campus.
  • Due to the nature of congregate living, all dorm residents will be required to test the week before returning to campus, or immediately upon arrival to campus.

Stay safe – WE ALL ROW!
