Viking Campus Activities Board (VCAB) donated $500 to the Abused Persons Outreach Center (APOC) on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The money was raised at Shatter the Silence events on campus. The event is coordinated every fall semester by the Valley City State University (VCSU) Student Senate.

Renee Ronsberg, APOC employee, thanked the students for the time and effort put into organizing and hosting the events. Shatter the Silence raises awareness about domestic abuse, relationship violence, and survivors. This year, VCSU student clubs and organizations were invited to host different activities over three days, to support the Shatter the Silence message while promoting their groups.

VCAB, a VCSU club that plans activities and events on campus, had a night of bowling at Sky Lanes on Wednesday, Oct. 20. Every spare and strike made meant $1 or $2 added to the final APOC donation. Students, staff and faculty showed up in force, with over 60 bowlers coming together to raise the money.
