Russi attends conference
Jenni Lou Russi recently attended classes at The Last Frontier Theatre Conference, held June 8–14, in Valdez, Alaska. Her new skills will be used in classes and productions at VCSU, including Stage Combat and Musical Theatre.
Lau attends conference
Ram Lau, assistant professor of business, attended AACSB International’s Sustainability Conference, “Fostering the Social Impact of B-Schools,” in Atlanta, Ga., June 22–24.
AACSB International—the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—holds the conference annually to explore business school efforts “to better local and global communities…and to engage in discussions about fostering social impact."
At the conference, Lau met with experts from both the public and private sectors and educators to discuss how higher education institutions are making progress in addressing the issue of sustainability and how higher education can contribute to enhancing the sustainable development of society. He also gained insight into how private corporations have made sustainability a top priority in their operations, e.g., a sustainability office/division being an essential element of a company such as Coca Cola.
