‘Let There Be Light’ by Hannah Aberle, senior art student, begins Nov. 7

Valley City native, Hannah Aberle’s exhibit, “Let There Be Light,” will be on display for viewing Nov. 7-18 in the VCSU Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts. Aberle’s exhibit explores the beauty that is created all around us as translated through the lens of a camera or the sketchings of a charcoal or Prisma colored pencil. Hannah’s artist talk will take place Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. on both the Valley City State University YouTube and Facebook pages. A reception will follow at 4 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Lobby with light refreshments.

Through photography and drawings, Aberle shares her perspective that everywhere one looks, one can see a glimpse of God’s beauty, his radiant light and his loving grace as is depicted through his creation.   sunset photo poster

Inspired by her family and friends, Aberle has found immense support from them throughout her four and a half years of studying at VCSU. Aberle has said, “I will forever be especially grateful to my mother who has faithfully helped me grow not only into the artist I am today, but also the person that I am today.”

Aberle, who is a double major in Elementary Education and Art Education with a minor in Digital Design, is currently student teaching this fall. After graduation, Aberle plans to pursue a job in education where she hopes to make a positive impact in her students’ lives by helping each of them to find their creative voice. She aspires to develop a K-12 photography and digital art program so she is able to share her passion for photography and digital design.
