What made you choose to major in elementary education?

I chose elementary education because of my passion to educate the next generation. I have always enjoyed teaching/coaching kids, and I feel as though teaching is the way I can make a difference in as many lives as possible.

What has been your favorite memory from VCSU so far?

My favorite memory from VCSU was meeting my wife, Lexi. I met her my sophomore year, and we just got married this past summer in June! My second favorite memory has been my time on the football team. From beating Jamestown for the paint bucket, to playing Mayville State in the Fargodome, and our overnight trips on away games.

Where is your favorite spot to be on campus and why?

My favorite spot on campus is at the Viking Grounds in the Student Center to talk with Pat Johnson and get coffee from her. It’s always great to be greeted by Pat and we all love her at VCSU.

Why did you choose VCSU?

I chose VCSU because of how it instantly felt like home when I took my visit. I come from a small town, and VCSU had that same feel right away. The people make you feel welcome, and they want to know you. This is also the best place to go for elementary education, so I knew that this was the place to best prepare me for my future.

What advice do you have for someone who is thinking about coming to VCSU?

If you are thinking about coming to VCSU, what you will find when you get here is that the people make the difference. Our campus is beautiful, we are getting many new facilities/renovations, but what makes VCSU different is the people and how much they care about you. I’ve met some of the best people in my time at VCSU, and I will cherish all the relationships I’ve made for the rest of my life.
