Meet future 2024 graduate Kiara Radke. She is a Business Administration major who loves feeling the connection of the Viking community.

What year are you at VCSU, and when will you graduate?

I am a freshman and will graduate in Fall 2024.

What attracted you to VCSU?

The tight-knit community attracted me to VCSU. They do a really good job of ensuring that everyone on campus feels connected and included.

Why did you choose your specific major?

In school, I had always been good at math classes and dealing with numbers, so I chose Business Administration with an Accounting & Finance concentration, a major that went along with that.

What do you enjoy most about your major?

My favorite part of my major is that you can go into almost any different field with it. You aren’t confined to just one certain occupation or workplace with it.

How is VCSU helping you reach your goals?

The professors here are all experts in their field and give you real-life experience that you can use when you do get the career that you want.

What are your career goals, or where do you see yourself in the future?

When I finish my degree, my dream job is to become a financial advisor working at either a bank or an investment firm. I feel that with that, I would be able to help people out with their future plans and goals, making sure that they are getting the best possible outcome.

Which activities or groups are you involved in on campus?

I am involved in DECA, Green Dot, Drama Club, and I’m the Business and CSSE Representative for Student Senate.

What do you enjoy most about VCSU?

My favorite part of VCSU is Allen Memorial Library. There are always events going on there and sometimes they even have days when you can come in and see dogs!

What are some of your hobbies?

Some of my hobbies are hanging out with my friends, reading, listening to music, and playing with my two cats.

Any advice for students thinking about attending VCSU?

It is a great campus that is welcoming to everyone, and the professors are all passionate about their work and ensuring that you get the best education possible.
